I've finished the top (minus borders) of the NYE Mystery. I can't say that I'm thrilled with my fabric selection. But I had to use what I had on hand. The only background fabric I had enough of was very close to the same color as my blocks- so unfortunately my blocks really kind of got lost.
Not sure what I want to do for the borders as of yet. I do know I want a small first border to pick up some of the colors in the blocks and tone down the mint green. Then I want a second border that will flow with the rest of the quilt and again, tone down the green somewhat.
I have other projects to catch up on now, so that will give me time to look through some border idea's and find some fabrics to finish with.

I LOVE the colors. Great job, Rhonda.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks great. It has an old-fashioned look to it just like a vintage quilt and I like that look!
