My Hexie Fower Garden is a little further along. I've now joined all those sections together that you saw on Sunday's post.

Hexie Flower Garden

It's about time I post an update to my Hexie Flower Garden.  I've been working this project in blocks.  The all white blocks really seem to go slow, but I have two of the four done now.  All the rest of the blocks to this quilt will have color.  I have one more row to put into the left block and then the bottom of the quilt will attach together.  This quilt is inspired by my Mom's flower garden.

Don't forget to visit the ongoing quilt show over at Pigtales and Quilts for daily door prizes.
More and more Men quilters have joined in and their work is awesome.  You won't want to miss out on seeing all this wonderful talent.  Way to Go Guys!!!

WIP-Wednesdays

I guess it's about time to share some more of my WIPs.

Hearts Desire:  I'm working on the big flowers on the blocks now.
Here is how it looks to date, all laid out on the table.

Peaceful Pathways:  I dedicated a hour or two , two day's a week to this project, keeping Hearts Desire my priority to get completed at this point.  Here is what I have done so far on PP.

Other then these two projects and my Hexie Flower Garden (which will be posted by Sunday), I've been busy with just normal fall activities....
  •  Harvesting the garden (what's left of it after the deer went through and had a tummy full).  I was able to freeze up about 15 bags of corn; 6 bags of beans; can 13 pints of sweet relish; harvest my cabbage and onions; and soon will be digging carrots and harvesting winter squash.
  • Working on last months mowing, pulling weeds, transplanting some flowers I want to relocate, and soon rolling up those hoses and putting away garden tools.
  • The ground is being torn up to allow for a sidewalk, and new steps - gravel has arrived and concrete as soon as the forms are laid.
  • Then I'm looking forward to some indoor - relaxation time, along with a little more sewing/quilting.
Happy October Everyone!

Quilt Happenings

I try to search the web for fun quilt happenings every couple weeks if I have the spare time.  You know, things like QAL (Quilt A-Longs); BOM (Blocks of the Month); Mystery's; Challenges; and so forth.  This week I ran across these fun happenings to share with you.

First we have the October Bloggers Quilt-Uber-Fest held over at Quilt Dad.

First block has just been released and there will be 16 total blocks from various bloggers sharing over this month.

If you care to join in, you might want to go check it all out.  Looks like a lot of fun.

Another really fun looking QAL is over at Moose on the Porch Quilts.
It's called "Fat Quarter Stars".  I love stars, and even though I am swamped with projects right now, I really would like to particapate in this one.  I should be able to sqeeze in a day for making a block a month for this one -- right?

Next we have a bloggers BOM put on by Jackie over at Canton Village.  This BOM actually started Sept. 25 so it's not to late to get in on the fun party they are having.

If you like Mystery's and Love using Jelly Rolls - This may be the one for you.  This is Mystery #5 called Worms & Jelly Rolls.  You can join in by signing up for free at Quilters Club of America.
Finally we have the Dead Simple QAL over at Lily's Quilts.  Pick a pallet and join in.  This is going to be really really fun and I can't wait to see what everyone's quilts look like from the various pallet of colors.

If you know of other fun happenings starting or that just started, please do leave a comment to share the fun with everyone else.   And remember, if you want to find the link back to happenings easily, just click on my Mystery's Quilts and More tab at the top of this page.  You'll find the whole directory of links right there. Thanks once again for visiting my blog and if your not a follower, I hope you will be. : )
Take care everyone and have a great week.
